The dissertation analyses the threats to economic interests of EU in Latin America - mostly focused on MERCOSUR's countries. Both regions share history, cultural and social bonds which were interrupted by the Cold War. During this period was Latin America a natural zone of interest of the United States (similarity with East Europe and USS R). The fundamental event is the end of bipolarity. The dissertation is mostly focused on one decade between 2003-2013. The three main chapters define the concept of economic security, the relationship between the EU-Latin America on the background of the historical insight and third main chapter analyses China's engagement in Latin America. In the post-Cold War period came a significant paradigmatic shift in the perception of economic security/vulnerability. Considering the asymmetry of relations between the two regions, we analyze a historical background, including the so-called "shared values" that partially (but not entirely) can be challenged. Relations between the two regions are viewed as highly pragmatic with a strong emphasis on trade ties. Common interests enforcement within EU - Visegrad Group model

The Visegrad Group celebrated its 25th anniversary in February 2016. Established as an initiative of three post-soviet countries from the Central and Eastern Europe region, this cooperation has gone over the years through a number of challenges. Not only by the accession to the European Union has proved its relevance. This diploma thesis deals with the scope and the strength of this regional cooperation. The objective of the thesis is to evaluate to what extent the Visegrad Group countries utilize this platform to promote common interests within the European Union. To achieve the objective the method of classification analysis is used, which, based on the three examined areas,energy security, cohesion policy, migration, will study specific common interests.

Region Building : the process of regionalization of defense and security cooperation in Visegrad and Western Balkan countries

The process of region building and regionalization is an emerging phenomenon examined in the same time by historians, geographers, political scientists, economists diplomats and other scientific profiles. The concepts of region and regionalization could appear at different spatial scales, such as supra-state, sub-state or as a cross-border units and processes. Furthermore region and regionalization are complex for defining because they incorporate different narratives and categories as regional identity, spatial borders and delineating, cultural and social homogeneity, political and economic interdependence etc. Regions are invented, re-invented or constructed with purpose to reply to different functional, territorial and administrative purposes. In the era of ongoing globalization and deepening of the European integration, regions are becoming powerful tool for achieving different goals and interests. Presented thesis Programs of the European Union of supporting regional interparliamentary cooperation in the region of Western Balkans as an instrument of regionalisation is focusing on regional parliamentary cooperation in the region of Western Balkans and programs of the European Union which are programmed to support this particular cooperation. The study is framed in the theory of new regionalism and the approach of socialization in international relations, which both offer in the case of European integration explanation of why regionalization takes place. The aim of the thesis is to answer the question whether the European Union is successful in its support of regionalization via regional parliamentary cooperation. Meaning if the mechanism of socialization chosen by the Union is effective and if institutional capacities of the national parliament in the region to conclude this cooperation are being built either via direct engagement with the Union, or via indirect way by engaging with regional initiatives active in regional parliamentary cooperation such as Regional Cooperation Council, COSAP and Cetinje Parliamentary Forum. American - Russian Cooperation in the North Pacific Region

The topic of this Bachelor thesis is the American-Russian cooperation in the Northern Pacific area after the disintegration of the Soviet Union. The Pacific areas of both countries, Russian Far East and the west coast of the United States, are close to each other when it comes to geographic location, distance from the political center, history, culture and economy. Russian Far East has at its disposal non-renewable resources, the United States have the necessary capital and technologies for its development. As opposed to the Atlantic dimension of their mutual relations, in the Asian-Pacific region they have similar interests in the qustions of security. Their cooperation in this area thus offers both great potential and a number of pitfalls. This BA thesis analyses the possibilities, development and tendencies of their cooperation, at the background of the American_russian relations of the last twenty years. It focuses on security, ecological and economic aspects of mutual cooperation on both the governmental and regional level. Evaluation of the European Cohesion Policy in Selected Region

The diploma's thesis is aiming to evaluate European policy of social cohesion and its growth options in the selected region. The evaluation is connected to the Elbe cycle route and it is based on analyses.
The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the subject of European policy of social cohesion while defining its legislation and framework of the legislation. It also defines the embodiment of regional politics within legislation of the local government i.e. the Czech Republic.
Analyses of the development of the selected project i.e. the Elbe cycle route and its impact on Hradec Kralove district will be dealt with in the practical part of the thesis. Business results of entities participating on the Elbe cycle route project will be gathered and used in order to evaluate selected indicators. Final assessment will be based on benchmarking. Method of comparison, analyses and syntheses will be used to evaluate gathered data. Applicable data will be gathered by research of related literature. Information will be also provided by the executive entities connected to the project, regional websites focussed on cycle tourism and by the town of Smiřice. Data gathered by the entities that cooperate on supervision of the Elbe cycle route project will be used for the statistic assessment.

European neighbourhood policy: the economic dimension of the Eastern partnership

The purpose of this paper is to prove the progress of the Eastern Partnership despite the unsettled economic and political situation in most of participating countries by means of a closer look at the bilateral and multilateral economic cooperation between EU and the partners and by emphasizing the main guidelines and potential of the implemented projects in the sphere of economic integration and convergence with EU policies. The first chapter introduces the Eastern initiative by explaining its premises, thematic platforms and the main purposes of the bilateral and multilateral track. It also introduces the profile of the partner states, depicting therefore the international context of the Partnership. The second chapter offers a detailed look at the fundamental level of the Eastern Partnership. It embodies two sub-chapters corresponding with the bilateral and multilateral track. The third chapter represents a general view of the project implementation in connection with existing challenges and offers a set of recommendations which would increase the EaP's performance.

The role of Central Europe in security-political relations on the background of the Visegrad Group

The topic of this thesis is the role of Central Europe in the security-political relations focusing on the Visegrad Group as a representative of Central European regional cooperation. The thesis first describes international regimes, which the Visegrad Group belongs to, the reasons of their origin and the functions, which they have been performing. The paper also deals with the region of Central Europe, with its definition and cooperation within it. The core part of the thesis is dedicated to the Visegrad Group, to its origin, to the relations between its members and above all to its activity within the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance. The final part evaluates not only achievements and failures in security and defense aspects of Visegrad cooperation, but it also mentions new possibilities, which are currently offered to such cooperation.
